Lymphatic drainage

  • What is it?

A rhythmical massage which encourages the lymphatic system to eliminate waste products from the body, such as excess fluid, bacteria etc.

  • How is it works?

The massage is completed using long strokes with pumping movements in the direction of the lymph nodes. It stimulates the nervous system by using a pumping notion to flush out the points where the lymphatic ducts terminate, simulate and release lymph.

Paraffin Wax

  • What is it?

A white or colourless soft, solid wax made from saturated hydrocarbons. It is commonly used in spas to soften skin as it is colourless, tasteless and odourless. However also used to provide pain relief to sore joints and muscles. It is a form of deep heat therapy as It is very efficient at absorbing and retaining heat.

  • How it is done?

When you dip your hand or feet into the wax, for example, the heat transfers from the wax into the affected area as the wax solidifies. The heat increases circulation, relieving pain and stiffness while increasing blood flow, relaxing muscles and decreasing joint stiffness. Paraffin wax can also minimise muscle spasms and inflammation as well as treat sprains.
